The Silence of the Lambs
Lead Actors: Anthony Hopkins, Jodie Foster, and Ted Levine
Director: Jonathan Demme
Release Year: 1991
Runtime: 130 minutes
Eminently creepy, this movie offers a deep dive into the twisted mindset of psychopathy. It was fascinating to see the character that would eventually lead to so many spinoff shows and movies. None are comparable to Hopkins though, as he delivers one of the most bone-chilling, unsettling, and convicted villian performances you'll ever see. This is not to overshadow Ted Levine as Buffalo Bill, not as cunning and devious as Lector, but equally as twisted. As Clarice, Jodie Foster delivers on the balance of naïvete and courage in the face of such evil. This is a classic horror movie for a reason.
