Another new classic comedy for our household. I'm inclined to love anything Robin Williams, and this is no exception. His sharp, sarcastic humor is on full display, tuned to its finest as he plays the loving father shamed into hiding who he is for the sake of appearances. Nathan Lane is a force beside him, embracing his fullest, beautiful, gay self in a brilliant comedic performance. The two play off each other perfectly, and adding the multifaceted talents of Hank Azaria result in hilarity in every scene. Eventually getting Gene Hackman (a conservative senator) and his wife to dress in drag in order to escape the ire of papparazi is a great way to show a changing of character, and altogether this movie charmed my wife and I like no comedy has in a while. I can't reccomend it enough.
